A little bit about us...
Meet the team
We are a dedicated team of early years professionals who love serving families and children on Turlin Moor. Led by Kerry Berry, our committed team takes great care to make sure each child is made to feel welcome and at home at St Gabriel's from the moment they arrive. Together, our team are passionate about seeing children develop, and supporting each other to deliver the highest standards of care, educational learning and play.
All our staff are qualified early years professionals or trainees studying child development. We are committed to being rooted in our local community, so that parents know us and trust us with their children. Turlin Moor is a beautiful place, and a rich community of people who look out for each other - and St Gabriel’s is no different. We are proud to be connected to the local church, and wider community hub of St Gabriel’s.
We treasure our children
Our mission is to treasure the children of Turlin Moor. This means treating every child as a precious, unique individual with huge potential to make the world a better place as they grow up.
Our aims are to:
provide high quality care and education for children below statutory school age;
a safe, secure, spiritual and stimulating environment;
work in partnership with parents to help children to learn and develop;
add to the life and well-being of the local community and offer children and their parents a service that promotes equality and values diversity.
St Gabriel’s Pre-School is a Christian organisation, run by a committee of volunteers in association with Hamworthy Church. The Pre-School is part of the wider mission of the church to love and serve the people of Hamworthy and Turlin Moor.
Alongside our Christian roots, St Gabriel’s Pre-School has a distinct ethos in its approach to early years education based on our 47 years of experience of caring for children. We passionately believe children learn best through child-led learning and when they feel safe and secure.
We promote independence and confidence by providing high quality learning opportunities, which challenge children throughout the day, supported by our qualified caring team. We are committed to making a difference to both our children and parents. We offer a non-judgemental friendly face to everyone who comes to St. Gabriel’s.
